Melaza Bistro

The food was amazing. Our waitress was very friendly along with the entire staff! We ordered a guavavtini and a rum and coke which BOTH were amazing! My arroz con pollo was delicious! Try the empanadas, so good. 10/10 recommend this place. We will be back.

The ambience was wonderful. The dining room was beautifully decorated and the music was so enjoyable. Our waitress Ericka was lovely and very attentive. The food was amazing! The plantain and guacamole appetizer was so fresh and light. The dinner salad was delicious, especially the raspberry dressing! The little roll that came with the salad was fresh and warm and the dipping oil for it was AMAZING!! (Garlic, cilantro, and spices)nnI had the skirt steak with chimichurri and my hubby had the pork shank. Both were excellent!! They were tender and bursting with flavor!nnI would highly recommend this great restaurant to anyone visiting Vermont!

Such an adorable decor inside the restaurant, super cute! Wish they had more vegan options on the menu besides one single thing (the veggie paella) and a few side items which I don't really count as options because they're just sides. The drinks were great! The service was amazing too!

Our party wanted to try all the restaurants in Woodstock and this was the only one where we had a bad experience.nnFirst of all our waitress was really nice and I wish I didn’t have to leave a bad review like this only because she was good at her job.nnThe food was okay.nnThe bad experience was with the Bartender. We had ordered two mojito s for the table, one virgin and one with alcohol. We believe the drinks got switched and we informed the waitress who insisted she change it. The bartender walks outside to our table, yells at us and says we are all wrong(four grown adults who tasted the drinks) - and walks away like the absolute worst. We were not getting anything for free and good service is included in the price we pay. What we experienced was terrible and should not happen to anyone. I do not know how someone like him has a job even.nnSometime passes, we are ready to just get done and be out of this terrible place. At this point manager brings out another virgin mojito made by someone else. But by this time our dinner was ruined by this place and we couldn’t wait to get out of there.nnTo top it off they charged for this drink that showed up when we were closer to the end of our dinner. By far the worst experience I’ve ever had dinning somewhere. Couldn’t believe this happened in Woodstock Vermont which is such a lovely town with the nicest people.

Visiting Woodstock for our honeymoon and will absolutely come back! We thoroughly enjoyed our dinners tonight and I can't wait to come back for the Annatto Rice & Pulled Chicken
