Beautifully managed park. Great flat sites and lean to sights. And nice facilities. Betty Lou was very happy to stay here BUT....nnI can not recommend certain spots of this campground because of the very loud and constant highway noise. In fact, I probably won’t be back because of the noise. At Site 27 we had to almost shout to each other while sitting at the campfire. It’s unfortunate because it is such a nice place but it’s just too close to the highway. If Highway noise doesn’t bother you then I would highly recommend it. It’s a great location for some really fine mountain biking and exploring beautiful Vermont towns and landscapes.

Used the auto road. Hiked to the peak. Stunning views. Fairly easy. I have bad knees and was able to enjoy. Saw lots of families and older folks. Good for everyone.

We drove the auto road to the top. After parking we enjoyed a picnic lunch and then hit the trails for the final 0.7 mi to the observation tower. The trails were well marked and reasonably easy for the climb. There were some steep sections but nothing too tricky. We enjoyed the view from the observation tower and the hike down.

We stayed in a lean-to, which was lovely! We knew it was going to rain so we were grateful we made that choice.nHowever, the lean-to we had was located in a space that we could hear the highway with no problem during the day. The train woke us up in the morning, but the nighttime was wonderfully quiet.nnThe staff are kind, courteous, and knowledgeable. I look forward to going back to do some hiking!
