Brattleboro Food Co-Op

As a college student, I loved taking trips into Brattleboro and the Co-op was always the first place I went. The salad bar and prepared foods were a welcome change from campus food. The atmosphere was welcoming and I often saw other students sitting in the seating area eating or reading.nnWhen I moved back to Vermont to work a few years ago, I shopped there regularly because the produce is fresh and they have a good selection of products that I couldn't find at other stores.nnRecently, I returned to Vermont to work with a Lyme doctor (unfortunately, I got Lyme the last time I was here) and the Co-op has been invaluable during this time. Not only am I able to purchase unpopular foods that I'm required to eat because of digestive health issues, I can order these foods in bulk, which saves money and time. The meat section is a dream compared to most grocery stores with a wide selection of local meats.nnDuring the Pandemic, they have done a great job supporting people with underlying health conditions by offering curbside pickup that is convenient and efficient. They've also been good about posting updates to their system on their website. There have been a couple of times when there was a mistake in my orders but the Co-op has been generous about fixing the problems. I'm really grateful to have the Co-op in Brattleboro, especially during this difficult time.

The Brattleboro Food Co-Op is great. We were members years ago before the new store was built and the Co-Op keeps getting better. The staff were exceedingly helpful and very friendly. This was the only store I could find Tavernier Chocolates and I'm embarrassed to say I bought the entire display of dark chocolates (for my family, not just me). I was torn between getting a bagful of prepared treats that smelled delicious and getting ingredients for the family dinner (this was over the Christmas holiday). The cashier was awesome, a fitting wrap to a quick excursion for groceries.

My girlfriend and I used to drive all the way from Hartford, CT just for the sesame sauce and ginger tea.

I love shopping at the Coop, especially for craft beer. They have a great selection and always fresh.
