I spent four days camping with my family on Burton Island and it was a truly incredible experience. This small Island is located just 45 min north of the Burlington area. Once you check in your reservation the next thing is carry all you will need, for your camping trip to the Ferry. The ferry takes about 15 minutes to get to the island. When you get off the ferry you will see right the way to a seccion with wheelbarrows. We used three of them.nnThe tent sites are very spacious, although are a little close to the others.nnCharging your cell phone is a little challenging but check the lamps on the bathrooms. On the side of the Lambs you will see a small Outlet. I discovered that, the last day I was there.nnBe aware of raccoons, The Last knight camping we had an incident. I recommend secure your food.nnOverall, the camping experience was incredible. Burton Island is just a beautiful place to spend a few days relaxing. It was only one thing I didn’t enjoy, and it was that the water on almost all beaches was full of algaes.
I spent 2 nights at Burton Island, and it is truly a unique experience. The nature trails on the island led to a seemingly infinite number of swimming spots and I envied the lean-tos that had private water access. The campsites were spacious but fairly open to the rest of the campground so there wasn't a ton of privacy. Being on an island had its perks, since there were no RV's it was fairly quiet. Carts made transporting your gear to the campsite much easier, I'll know to pack more next time. Also firewood and ice is available to buy at the campground, despite COVID restrictions at the store. Looking forward to my next time at this place.
The best of State Parks. Staff is amazing. Facilities are clean. Grounds are perfect. Love our time there each summer. Thank you, thank you! We will continue to go back.
Awesome place!! One of Vermont's hidden gems!
We camp here every year in June for a week and it is hands down my favorite state park!
