Jess greeted me and my two year old with warmth and enthusiasm; worked quickly and efficiently despite my little man's wiggling; kept a consistent stream of encouraging comments going, to keep him feeling secure; and talked him through every step - showing him the clippers, letting him touch them, and giving him notice before moving on to the next step of the haircut.nI'm so glad we made the appointment. We'll definitely be back!
We came in to get haircuts for my entire family. The owner did my husband and son and did a fine job, no complaints with her. But her employee did my daughter and mine and I am incredibly disappointed. When we first told her we wanted a pixie cut, she told me something like that I would definitely not get the cut that I was picturing in my head. I should have listened to her and left! She later tried to tell me that I was really asking for a bob cut. She cannot possibly be professionally trained. She also cut at least 4 inches off my layers when I told her one inch was all I wanted. I was watching my kids play so I wasn't paying attention to her cut my hair. Also, the place was filthy - obviously never cleaned up after each cut or even each day. It was disgusting.
Slightly pricier than what I often pay for a kids cut, but well worth it! The stylists are kind, patient, and do a great job.
I am dismayed by the negative reviews of the Hairy Bear. My son, now 4 yrs old, had his first haircut done here almost 2 years ago and almost every haircut since and has had a FANTASTIC time, EVERY time here. When there is the opportunity to do it at the same time as my son(which as a working Mom is the only time), I have had my hair colored and cut here and so has my 15 year old daughter, and neither one of us has ever been disappointed. Sandy has an exceptional memory when it comes to remembering the specific color combination I like and the cut I LOVE (and she came up with for me after 10 years of shoulder length blah, blah hair)!!
