Unfortunately the service has significantly gone down since joining 20+ years ago. Plenty of other options out there! Too bad.
I have been a member of NEFCU since 1998 when membership was limited to employees of the hospital and IBM. At the time, I accepted a temporary position at the hospital so that I could join and have not regretted joining since. The interest rate on savings is among the highest available locally and the interest rates on loans are among the lowest. They also combine loan and deposit balances when determining a member’s “status,” so I have always been top tier 25k+. This has given me many free services over the years, which is much appreciated.nnIt seems from some recent reviews that people have a love/hate relationship with this CU. They all seem to be 1 or 5 stars, so read them with an eye towards what the complaint or compliment is and make the decision of this is the right place for your financial transactions. It certainly has been for my family for longer than most relationships last, so I hope that tells you something.

Received extremely poor service when calling with questions about how bank hours where affected during this shutdown. Apparently bank workers are not essential.
