I took a virtual class with Allison this morning (Saturday) and it was such a wonderful session. I have never taken an online yoga class so I was not sure how it would go. I was able to talk to her and get help figuring out how to modify prop. I was able to follow along with her instructions well. Allison was a great instructor. I felt very open, relaxed and wonderful after the session. Thanks to her great instruction I was even able to perform all the moves with an injury. I would highly recommend the yoga classes offered by Shelburn Community Movement and instructor Allison!!

I have never considered myself a yoga person before but this place and the teachers here have made me a convert! I have truly enjoyed every class I've taken. The owner and teachers have been warm, welcoming, and affirming in so many ways. I'm in the process of recovering from a long illness and these classes are helping me ease back into movement in a gentler and more supportive way - without the pressure to make my body or my movement look any certain way. My process can be messy, light-hearted, peaceful, and fun instead of perfect! It has also provided a wonderful, accepting space to process some recent painful losses and stay in touch with my body and emotions as I move through grief. All in all, I highly recommend this studio for folks with all different kinds of bodies and abilities.

37/M - I attended my first Yin class 10/29 with Tina after Teacher Kelly suggested I’d benefit from the format. I wanted to pass along my gratitude for the relief I feel following class. I’ve fought a virtually constant stabbing rhomboid pain all year as a result of long term poor computing posture. Since the onset of the acute pain, I’ve improved my ergonomic setup, learned to “touch-type”, attended several months of PT, 20 chiropractic adjustments, and I continue having bi-weekly sports/IASTM massage. Until yesterday I could only count two things which caused a noticeable and permanent improvement. First, learning to type stopped me from having to hang my head to see the keys. Later, my first cervical spine adjustment released something which was causing severe pain in my neck. Since then, 6 months ago, I’ve still fought the lingering sharp upper back pain and thought I might have to suffer forever. Even deep breathing hurt. Leaving class yesterday I first felt noticeably less hip impingement and a freer gait. This was just a bonus for me as someone who sits all day at work. I noticed later that evening that the constant rhomboid pain was now rare and easier to avoid. This relief allowed me to recognize how tension in my back, unaffected by brief stretching at work, lead to the constant pain and I finally have hope that I can resolve this. I slept like a stone last night and that’s not happened more than a few times this year. Thank you so much Tina. I also have attended several Fire & Water hot yoga classes with Kelly and I have greatly enjoyed myself. I have noticeably improved balance and more flexibility as well as improved calmness in my daily life. Thank you to Kelly, Tina, and Shelburne Community Movement.
