Good food. Service was great. When we went, they didn't have out first 2 or 3 choices, but that was due to COVID and the fact that we were there late (8:30pm reservation) on their last night being open for a while. They do have some higher prices, but there are also some lower priced entrees ($16 or so) just in case you have a lower budget. I would say average meal (2 drinks, 2 apps, 2 entrees,. 1 dessert) would run $150 if you pick the middle road pricing. Food was delicious though even though it wasn't our first pick. Recommend the crab cake appetizer.
My wife and I enjoyed a great dinner here. The calamari was delicious, lightly breaded which helped us finish our main course. My wife had the 12oz new York strip and I had the 18oz bone in ribeye. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, the strip had a wonderful crust and it may have been the better of the two but I would have no issue recommending either steak. For sides the Brussel sprouts are an excellent choice. Our server was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The only negative I have for this restaurant is the creamed spinach. We had to send it back, but the great response from our server maintains the 5 star rating for me.
We have been trying to eat here for at least a year and had troubles because we don’t plan to make reservations far enough in advance so it never worked out until a few nights ago.nnWe ended up arriving 20 minutes early and they were able to seat us immediately. The staff was friendly and attentive the whole time. Oysters and shrimp cocktail appetizers were great. My lamb was good with the chimichurri sauce, but the meat was more “gamey” then I prefer although it’s probably a personal preference than anything off with the lamb. My fiancé had the Snake river farm flank steak/wagyu and ordered it medium well. It was cooked a little rather than her prefers but he ate every last bite.nnLastly we wrapped up with lattes, espressos, Creme Brûlée and chocolate kahlua cake. It was a great dining experience for our first visit. We would definitely come again.
I ate here with my boyfriend a little over a month ago and have been meaning to leave a review. The food was delicious. We had the lobster Mac and cheese and crab cakes as well as the filet with sides. Everything came out piping hot and delicious, so no complaints there. I’m giving 3 star review instead of 5 because of the service. We actually made a reservation online through the restaurant’s website, and when we arrived, we were told by the hostess that making a reservation through the website doesn’t really work and that calling is the best practice. I was a little baffled because why would you have booking an online reservation directly through your own website if it doesn’t work or isn’t preferred? It just didn’t make sense to me at all. We were still seated and were served by Franny. Franny was quite cold and seemed annoyed in general to be working. It definitely put a damper on the entire dining experience. I’ve been very fortunate with some of the restaurants I’ve had the pleasure to dine in, and in my opinion, the service is a big part of the whole overall experience. For it to be such a nice restaurant/steakhouse, I had much higher expectations of Franny’s overall attitude and demeanor. In closing, I still recommend eating here and would eat here myself again. If you live locally to Burlington or are visiting, you won’t regret trying the food at E.B.’s, just call to make a reservation, and ask for someone other than Franny as your server :)
I was so happy to finally find a steakhouse near us. The service n food were great. We would definitely go back again especially when the bar is able to open. Very cozy atmosphere to celebrate my birthday with my husband. The maple brussel sprouts n filet were delicious. Cheers!
