I was very disappointed in your food. I ordered a grilled cheese. It wasn't even grilled. Looked like it was microwaved. Your clam chowder was horrible too. Celery in it was not cooked. It wasnt a chowder more of a soup. Needless to say I wasted my money and threw it all out. I will not come here again.

My heart is broken. My family and I have enjoyed dining at the Bryant House restaurant every year when we make our December pilgrimage to the Vermont Country Store. We were so looking forward to a delicious, cozy meal this afternoon. When we arrived at the restaurant, I could hardly believe my eyes. The Bryant House has been replaced by Mildred’s Grill. All the charm of dining in this historic home has been replaced with a cafeteria style restaurant, plastic trays and all. Walls have been knocked down. The staircase has been removed. Dining space has been replaced with upholstered chairs. Huge communal style tables have been added. No proper bar. A minuscule offering of alcoholic beverages (canned beer and single serve bottles of wine only). Mildred’s Grill does not hold a candle to its predecessor. Had we known before we made the half hour drive, we would have probably skipped it and just ordered our favorites from the VT country store online. We ate here because our kids were hungry, but neither of them liked the food. It was a total bust. Sad beyond belief. We won’t be returning. Why did you have to mess with perfection?

What a sad, disheartening desecration of what used to be a terrific restaurant. This was clearly driven by corporate greed and targeted at the one-time visits of transient tourists. Who in their right mind would go back twice? The Ortons should be ashamed and embarrassed they thought this was a good idea.

What happened to The Bryant House? Well the replacement is absolutely horrible. It's now a cafeteria style take out restaurant and the quality of food has degraded significantly. We loved the original establishment (The Bryant House) and its sad to see a real piece of history ruined. We will never be going back here again.

Went to eat at Bryant house as we always loved it there..come to find out it was closed and now it’s Mildred’s restaurant....horrible! You have to order at the counter and then they give you a remote when order ready.there are 3 bar tables and about 3 tables in next room...food horrible, atmosphere horrible..used to love Bryant House..nope we won’t be back!!!
