This trail can fool you. If you continue around the lake when you get to the picnic area, plan on five hours, easy. Plenty of elevation, with switchbacks & cliffs all along the West side.nThere's a place where the trail goes down to about 6 inches wide, with 650 ft drop to the West. Not marked very well at one intersection. But whats a great place!

Basically, it's fairly well traveled with a lot of people on weekends going to the beach at Silver Lake. Trail itself is wide, not too steep and takes about an hour to get to the lake.nnBest advice on what to do-- ditch the beach, cross the dam and walk along the western shore of the lake to find an area to swim and hang out with a bit of privacy. There are plenty of places to do so. There is a point, however, where the trail splits and heads off to the west and over the bowl the lake is in. If you find yourself climbing, you're wrong.

Very amazing place to have fun together with the family but there were no food stalls nearby whenever you're hungry.
