It is absolutely gorgeous and quiet. Plenty of wide open and space. Amazing place to get in touch with your spiritual side or just to have Steve personal time and just get back to yourself!
Very nice scenery and plenty of water access but not to much hiking. Lots of bird watching and set up for deer hunting.
This is a beautiful place to kayak and view some wildlife. We have paddled around here several times now. I prefer the calmer waters around Sassafras Landing. We have seen several Bald Eagles there. Strawberry Landing did not seem as good for launching kayaks. Mulberry Landing is nice but the water was a bit choppy for me. We saw quite a few jellyfish, crabs and muscles along the edges.nnThere is plenty of parking at the launch areas and the picnic tables and shelters are nice. In the past there were port-a-potties to use; but those are not currently in place with Covid19 considerations in place.
Good amount of space to park. Good launch for SUP. Beautiful environment and scenery.
I think it must be better for hunting than just nature viewing.
