Big Oaks Campground

Rented a mobile home for a week. Left after 3 nights after waking up in the middle of the night watching mice run through the house. House wasn't clean at arrival but we cleaned throughly. Super buggy at sundown. Pool was nice and most staff was friendly. Its camping but I I rented a home for a reason. Mice in the living room, kitchen and kids room was enough for me. Won't be back.

Even for graceful people, are experienced campers, the metal fire pit seemingly made from recycled wheels is unfortunately an injury hazard. We know someone who had to get stitches after the lip of the pit caught their toe, cantilevering them into the rusty metal onto the opposite side, catching then exposing their bone.nnHow about filling in the concavity of the wheel well with some recycled mosaic artwork or something?

I have been very impressed with Big Oaks. All of the staff that I have met were extremely kind and helpful. The only down fall that I have seen so far is the 2 way roadways. They are much too small for 2 cars to pass each other. I’ve had to back up a few times to allow another vehicle to pass. It would be nice to have them 1 way. Certainly safer in my opinion.

We found our stay at Big Oaks Campground to be far less enjoyable than expected. Our campsite was was littered with trash and while this can be easily overlooked the evening became close to intolerable due to excessive noice.nnThose that look to reserve space here need to be aware that road and airplane noises are easily heard throughout the night. We also experienced the unfortunate experience of a neighboring site that kept their TV on all night. At 2pm (3 hours past quiet time) we made two attempts to find the park guards before we were able to get them to respond.nnWe planned to stay two night but were fully dissatisfied with the situation and elected to check out.nnAfter asking the owner to refund our second night (a mere $40) out of good business practice we were told they would only offer a credit for another night to be used at a later time.nnWe understand that our experience may have been a unique and unfortunate situation, but we disagree with the customer service and will not be back.nnAside from our situation, if you are looking for a quiet and set aside camping experience, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Big oaks is my favorite place to camp. Great camp store awesome site and park events weekly on Saturday night!!!! Great memories made here.
