Science centers are great places for traveling families to spend a few hours out of the elements. Unlike most attractions, they have a knack for enlightening and entertaining inquisitive minds at the same time.nnThe Iron Hill Science Center is located on Robert L. Melson Lane in Newark and has been known to keep visitors engaged for hours.nnIts exhibits touch on a variety of topics, including technology, history, art, and the natural world. Many of them focus on how those things relate to the state and local area.nnThe center’s staff hosts a number of special programs and events throughout the year, too, so check their website before making a special trip.

I signed up my son for one of Iron Hill's summer week-long camp program, where they explored, hiked, and learned about fossils, dinosaurs and other interesting stuff. They even built a working volcano. We also went on a trip to The Academy of Science Museum of Drexel (in Philly). This camp was led by a friendly, well-organized staff. I felt that my son was safe with this particular group and he had a lot of fun. We'll definitely sign up for next summer's weekly camp programs.

I completed a merit badge for Boy Scout with the nice people that work here and got a lot done. I enjoyed all of the things they had to offer there and would recommend this place to others.
