Nice Saturday walk. Only did half of it today. Will be coming with just the family to do full 7.9 mile trail. There is a lot of bike traffic so be courteous and give them some riomto pass you on the left.
I enjoyed the Jack A. Markell Trail. I took it from Wilmington to New Castle on my bike. It was a pleasant and scenic ride.
Terrific trail. Wife and I biked this from end to end today. Easy. Very few needs to change gears. Mostly shady. Well taken care of and CLEAN. Startled at one point when a young dear suddenly crossed our path about 15’ ahead of us. The route we took was 18 miles round trip.
We love to go walking and biking here. Very level and scenic . they and go as often as possible.
The head of this trail starts at a nature center with a small museum staffed with excellent people eager to tell you all about the tidal marshes of upper Delaware.nThe trail itself starts on a great boardwalk through the marsh, and will go a good long way. They have nice informative plaques along the way.nYou can easily bike this trail, and it is mostly flat. All in all a very easy hike. When you're done, you can head over to the River Walk for a nice dinner and perhaps an adult beverage.
