Dover International Speedway

Dover International Speedway is a national racing icon, and since it was opened in 1969, it has hosted a number of annual races in a variety of classes.nnOf course, it’s most well-known for its NASCAR races, and during the season, the city swells with race fans from all over the region.nnEven for non-race fans it’s a fun atmosphere that’s worth checking out. Additional events include live entertainment, family-friendly games and activities, and lots of great food and adult beverages.nnCampsites and hotel rooms go quickly during big events, so plan ahead if that’s when you’ll be visiting.

We went for the first state drift event that is held once a month. It was really cool. Lots of cars drifting around tracks that are set up in the rear parking lot by the monster mile guy. Bring a helmet and you can probably get to ride with one of the drivers. My son got to ride with a few driver's in different cars. We had a blast.

Very clean, very nice people and good environment. Change of times when they are open now because of covid-19 but you can still go play and have fun 10am to 4am Monday through Fridays and 24hrs Fri, Sat and Sunday.

I went for the 2019 fall race. Very good and it had diecasts that you could buy on the way out. Go here for a nice race. But I am sad there will only be 1 race here in 2021 because of Nashville being added back. I think that track will be a bad replacement. :(
