Good matcha, good selection of sauces and sesame oils. I don't know too much about east Asian cuisines myself, so I like to buy something I've never had before each time I go to Hana Market to try something new! Love this little grocery. Small space but lots of tasty products and staples for cooking.

I am half Japanese so I am EXTREMELY thankful for this market! The prices are very reasonable. So many Japanese goods here that I typically only see in Japan. Makes cooking all my Japanese dishes so much easier. The store is very small but has so many options. It’s my little Nippon happiness in DC ud83dude0d

This place is dangerous. If you come here, you're going to spend a ton of money just simply because the food is so good and the selection has so many interesting things that you can't help but buy as much as you can. I love it. There are some things here I haven't seen outside of Japan and I'm very happy they have it.

A very small and intimate market that holds an item for every aspect of life: kitchenware, beauty products, snacks, meats, rice, greens, and coffee.nnIf you don't know the Japanese product you are looking at, there are very few translations. You may have a gamble for the new snack you are trying.nnThe produce is fresh and packaged cleanly for easy selection.nThe owner(?) is kind and helpful. When I was ignorant of the sushi rice selection, she offered her opinion of her favorite to help me decide.nnCOVID regulations restrict the number of patrons and there is hand sanitizer at the counter.

I just love this little Japanese food market. I stop by often when I'm in the area to pick up pickled veggies, mochi, and Japanese sweets for my Mom. They have daily fresh onigiri at the counter every day except Wednesdays. In December they also carry special Japanese New Years foods. The owners are often there and are the sweetest, most genuine people.
