I had the squid in pasta. The portion was small bit it was delicious. I enjoyed the cocktails as well. The ambience in romantic which fits the menu style . I tried the cheese pizza it was just okay kinda salty for my tastenOverall I’d eat here again .nSide note:The decor is strange . don’t get the dead presidents/slave owners as decoration it was off putting.

The only surprise was that there wasn't a line out the door! James Beard chef, super fresh pasta, cute space, and a menu I would try anything on. Also reasonably priced for DC. Stop what you're doing and head here for modern Italian that should have a month long wait for a reservation.

Great food! Absolutely delicious! We were traveling to Washington DC for work/extended for vacation and went here for dinner. Man will we be missing it when we go home.nnGreat staff, very friendly and excellent service. The owner is hands on and present at the restaurant.nnThank you! We wish you had a restaurant in San Diego. We will be craving this places food with nothing to compare.

The prices are very high. It is a nice restaurant but I personally would have the same satisfaction with fast food. I recommend coming here for a special night but not regularly.
