Cute convenience store selling high-quality, local essentials. The made-to-order food is exceptional. Recommend the Chicken and Brussels salad and CAPS (chicken, avocado, provolone, and sriracha mayo). Wish this was in my neighborhood!
In a neighborhood called Ivy City is Union Kitchen, an incubator for local food and beverage companies. Union Kitchen Grocery is the store that sells their items and other local goods.nnThis location is one of several locations and one of the largest. Located in Shaw, it doubles as a store and cafe. They sell local goods from alcohol to greeting cards to snacks. They have a grab-n-go area as well as a cafe that brews coffee and makes sandwiches, etc. If you have a sweet tooth, order their famous gooey chocolate chip cookie. It's very good!nnThey have an area inside with tables, outlets, and wifi if you want to stay awhile. When the weather is nice, they have an outdoor patio.
Absolutely love their breakfast sandwiches and delicious drip coffee! Try the waffle bun. YUM. Experienced really friendly service as well!

It’s a great place, with great and affordable food and the customer service is also fantastic. My only reproach, if any, is that, depending on the volume of the music, which sometimes is very loud, you could stay to enjoy eating inside. It may be a clear indication that I’m aging or that the barista is so deaf by now that needs the extra load of decibels to get into his trance.
