We did not spend any real time in the campground so this is not a review for that. This is just a review for the water fall and the associated swimming hole. After hiking a few hours, we decided to check this spot out and see if we could at least wade and cool off our feet. The falls were going fairly vigorously, and the water was refreshingly cold. We ended up diving in completely, it was too tempting to only do up to our ankles, and the water was great and the area wasn't too crowded.

Great for a 2 nighter. Kids love the water and big pool and limitless rocks. (I have jumped off into the pool and it's only about 3-4 feet with a good amount of water flowing, so pretty risky).nnVery flat for campers. If you catch the right amount of rain (not too much to close the gate) the falls are amazing. There's a small water fall hike nearby. You may experience a few cars parked for the Ozark Highlands Trail, but I've only been here once in early November where all the campsites were actually taken.nnThe NFS is no longer maintaining the site. As far as I know, toilets will still be open, but it's carry out your own trash.nnI have called the morning before we left and got a straight answer from the NFS if they intended to close the gate based on anticipated rain.

LOVE THIS PLACE! Creek was low. No rangers stopped in while we were there however garbage had been emptied recently. Campground was clean! Bring a water filter though, as no other access except the creek.

I've lived in Arkansas all my life, never knew this was so accessible.
