Portage Route Trail

Easy hike. interesting walking through the tunnel then follow the trail up close to the base of the dam. The trail just kind of ends as the land is marked not to enter. Could have walked around and on up to the dam although there is no access on this side. It was interesting and hope to go there again.

Lots of spiders. Cool tunnel.

Portage trail, easy access. Well kept, and marked. Patrolled regularly. A great place to just take the dog ( if he/she is good) and let them wander w/o a leash. Can be packed during specific fish runs, there are also fishing platforms from the tribe near. You can walk along a trail for a few miles down river, to the old train tunnel. And pretty close to the lock.

Great place to explore

This portage route is right by the river. There are nice views and the main reason to be here seems to be fishing in the river.
