Lakeside Hideaway was the only restaurant open during my boyfriend and I’s Monday morning getaway to Rockaway from Portland. We decided to walk the half mile from the beach where we parked up to the store, and we were promptly greeted by a very nice middle aged waitress.nnWe asked to be seated on their deck out back so as to enjoy the nice weather Rockaway had that day. She informed us she wouldn’t be able to wait on us from out there, even though we were the only guests in the restaurant at the time.nnWe gave up on sitting outside, and sat at the only comfortable looking booth, which was right next to the front door, and also hidden behind an ATM, so we basically had to deal with her only seeing us if she was walking by for something else.nnLong story short, the food was cooked to order and was absolutely AMAZING. The ranch is a bit heavy on the buttermilk but is okay otherwise. Overall, amazing visit. We really enjoyed it and plan to go back.

This used to be our go to place but we will not be back the Ruben was the worst so dry thencorned beef was grainy and crumbly and when I finally got the attention of the waitress/bartender/hostess/cashier (why is there one person doing it all) she got mad and yanked plates from the table and without offering an alternative slammed the check down and would not let us get anything else. And for her to scream at a sweet old couple who just asked where their food was after waiting forever watching others who got there after get food before them I always tell people to go here when they go to Rockaway but never again figure it out or we will never be back

We happened into this place for a quick bite and were very pleasantly surprised.nThe crab cocktail was good just wished there was more of it. Sliders and fries were great but the chowder was top notch. For me top three on the coast my wife said it was very possibly her number 1!!! We will be back for sure.nThanks for a great lunch.

I got there around closing time and it was still a very good place to visit and get something to eat. The fries were perfect, the burger was awesome and the dessert was so huge that it took two to finish a slice of cake.
