The last time I visited Shady lake was as a teenager. Used to go every year with family. Loved this place as a child and it has not changed one bit.. still a great place to visit.. love it.

If you're looking for a place to be off-grid for a few days or even a week. Heck, even a month if life permits. Shady Lake is the perfect spot for a getaway. There are hiking trails to explore. A beautiful lake to go fishing. If neither is of interest - enjoying the sounds of nature at your campsite and sitting by the campfire in the evenings will be just as perfect. Also, don't worry there is great distance between you and your fellow neighbor campers. Just keep in mind - when outdoors the daddy long leg spiders and stick bugs will come out and play too. Arkansas isn't called the natural state for nothing!

Three days were not enough! I stayed here while sightseeing. It was quite a drive to get to every place I wanted to go from here, and I had no cell service at all, but this is a beautiful, calm, and serene palce and it was worth it! With the lake, trails, and creek, I could have probably occupied my time exploring and relaxing here the whole time and did just fine. I stayed in loop B but would drive to loop D to take a shower because it was nicer. It is very remote, so best to have all supplies before coming. The camp host, Billy, was super helpful when I had questions. I hope to go back soon!

Very peaceful place to camp and relax. Loop A needs some repairs still from a storm in 2019 thought. B,C & D are still good though.

Camped here last Saturday. It is pretty and safe. Love it.
