The northern trailhead is currently closed, and for good reason. There must have been a big storm recently. About 0.5 miles in there are fallen trees along the trail up to the summit. Proceed with caution, some of the fallen trees are large and difficult to maneuver around. Trail finding is also difficult in places. I do not recommend hiking this route unless you are an experienced hiker and have done this trail before. The southern trailhead is clear and easy.

Pretty steep trail almost all the way, with elevation gain of 1,450 feet. It’s 5 miles if out and back. Although it is possible to continue on through the southern part, it’s unclear how to get back as it’s not a loop. It’s easy to miss the very top (view point) as it is kind of on the side of the trail and requires a bit of climbing (ground and then a pile of rocks). Beginning of the trail has a lot of flowers and also provides a beautiful view of Cape Falcon before you enter woodland. The view is rewarding, but space is small and a bit awkward because of the rocks (tricky to have a small picnic, better to have some energy bars or trail mix).

This is such a beautiful trail, moderate with incline. About 5.5 miles round-trip definitely worth it. One of my favorite hikes!

A bit of a scramble at the top, but worth it for the beautiful vista.

Moderately challenging trail with a few treacherous passages. Trail is very narrow, which sometimes makes getting out of the way difficult. View at the top is worth it.
