Closed due to covid. Has the potential to be a great campground with a little TLC. Some spaces suitable for smaller RVs but mostly tent. They all have electric and easy access to water. Beautiful place to enjoy nature.

Absolutely beautiful area ❤ the trail was a little overgrown, but well marked and easily navigated.

Camp ground appears closed, but the trail head was open. The trail was a bit overgrown, but we were looking for a challenge, so enjoyed it.

Have been coming to shores lake since I was small I'm 52 now. They have done a lot with this camping area. They have drained it down a couple times just low enough once to build the swimming area. And fix some of the old rock dam. And a second time to redue another part of the lake. Then restocked it. But they never lowered it enough to kill the existing fish. This used to be more of a primitive camp ground just leading up to white rock mountain. And there are a lot of younger crowd that goes out there because no one will bother them. Its in the far north west part of county and takes a nice little drive up there. Kids have no place to go that the cops wont bother them. This is it. Used to be keggers out there when i was younger. Beautiful place. Still semi primitive. Great hiking area white rock the trails across from camp ground but be sure and leave a note or let someone no where you are going because there are a lot of people that get out non these trails and get lost, then you get all the police out there. Good place. White rock mountain beautiful place with cabins. Also Devils Canyon great place to hike. Lots of beautiful things to look at. Plus you will be and can stay a lot more than 6 ft away from people. Scope it out on maps and research a little before hiking and be prepared for the beauty of the Ozark Highlands Trail.
