The cave it’s a little shorter than expected. However the experience is phenomenal. The cave itself is still living and provides a fairly easy terrain to navigate through. This is especially good for older people looking to enjoy a low climb, low risk trek through a cave. Staff are helpful and polite. I do wish there was a way to pause the self-guided tour, it seems very hurried and does not allow you to spend a lot of time looking at the actual structure. You end up getting out of sync very quickly with the self-guided tour as it just plays on a loop. If you were there I would recommend that you take a photo in front of the butterfly geode in the gift shop.
This place wasn't too bad... it felt like we waited longer to get in the cave than our actual tour of the cave. The tour is done by a headset and the pace is very slow. We had a hard time keeping up with what we were looking at. I'm glad it was just my husband and I and not with our kids because it wouldn't have been worth the money in that case. The cave itself had some nice things to look at and the gift shop has some great rocks and things for souvenirs. Had we not been to nicer caves previously, this may have been a better experience.
This is a must stop for eureka springs visitors. We had a large family vacation and this ended up being the highlight of the trip. They offer Gem panning and it is a must especially if you have children. I was shocked at how many stones you got with your bag. The customer service was incredible and the gift shop had such great pricing with a variety of fun finds you won't leave empty handed.
It's such a rich cave but the viewable parts are rather short trip with kids adults that can go down and listen to the entire audio tour with the headphones and actually have time to enjoy it all would have a blast if spelunking is your thing, it's a living cave and stays a nice 57 year round so maybe a jacket. The paydirt and fossil search bags are amazing for kids so much to find in them amethyst fools gold and also stuff like obsidian and quartz tips was awesome for somebody who loves geology like myself. Great place super friendly staff and was a awesome experience, just wish I'd had time to chunk some axes up there!
Not exactly Carlsbad, but a fun trip, especially if you have kids who might be interested. It's a short walk (but there are steep ramps and stairs involved) with a self-guided audio tour. Wouldn't go way out of my way to visit, but it's close enough to Eureka Springs.
