I like to shop here, but the employees are absolutely unacceptable. I met the owner once and he was very kind and a great customer service representative, but most of the other employees give off bad vibes. I myself work in retail, and I’ve never seen such poor customer service in an establishment. I love the items they sell, and the price points are decent, but I almost never want to step foot in this store because I always leave feeling so unhappy. I never leave bad reviews, but I consistently have bad experiences with the employees here.

I enjoy shopping there, but when I try to sell clothes, they’ll give me things back that they claim had “signs of wear” and yet I’ve worn it once and they’re in very nice condition. I’ll be looking at clothes they have in their stores and find items with rips, stains, and holes (that are not supposed to be there) and yet some of my really nice clothes are not picked by them. One girl even told me that “the decisions are based on the girl who is looking at the clothes...” Seriously? That comment made me laugh. Plus, some girls give off an attitude like they have better things to do than assist you. I would recommend buying from them, but I definitely do not recommend selling clothes to them, it’s a waste of time.

I've been to a handful of other Plato's Closet locations and this one is kept the cleanest and most organized out of all of the ones i've seen. They usually have a good amount of high quality items in their cases too like wallets, shoes, purses, etc. The only reason for the 4-star instead of a 5 is that some of the employees aren't the sweetest, I get an employee here and there that makes me feel unwelcome and like I am a bother to them when I just want a dressing room. This only happens once in a while though, not all the time. Consistent place to shop, I like coming here.

This is the worst experience I have ever had at a store. I have actively bought and sold clothing since they first opened but the last week has shown me how careless the owner really is and I cannot support a business like that. There were multiple shoppers showing concern that there was a breakout of Covid in the store and they did not answer any questions. I live with my father who is extremely immunocompromised, and had gone to the store within the last two weeks. I tried to contact the store privately to ask if the outbreak was real, and I expressed why I was so worried. Instead of a reply, I was blocked by them. I had to go get a test yesterday, and thankfully I was negative. However, what the store owner did is more than enough to make me take my business elsewhere. They clearly only care about their profits, and not the community. Very disappointing...nnHello.nI just wanted to reply to the owner, but it seems like there isn’t a way to do that on the original post. I would like to be very clear that I was never rude or demanding. I also never asked for personal info because I understand that it would be a violation of HIPAA. I am so upset that the owner will not take accountability, but from other reviews it seems like this is a common pattern... the store announced that they would close temporarily, not that would change their hours which was another sign of some sort of outbreak, and it is clear that the owner lied in the reply. They also posted to stay safe and added gifs of masks which references the virus, and not a staffing issue. I am not sure why they couldn’t reassure me that there wasn’t anyone with the virus when I explained why I was so terrified. I’m deeply upset by the way that I was made out to be rude when I expressed a deep, serious fear of a loved one getting seriously ill.

Yesterday my friend and I both commented on Plato’s Closet’s Instagram regarding their post about temporarily closing. The whole thing was suspicious so we were wondering if it was COVID related & we were freaking out given that we shopped there recently. Rather than responding, they deleted the post that our comments were on, so then my friend DM’d them & they ignored her there too. Her Dad has stage 4 cancer & is immunocompromised, which she told them. Plato’s closet gets a lot of traffic with buying and selling clothes so they owe it to the community to let them know, and last time I checked, it’s important in stopping the spread to know whether or not you could have been infected. Clearly the company’s morals and ethics are lacking, and I will never shop there again.
