It is a Venezuelan city, capital of Tovar municipality, in the state of Aragua. Founded on April 8, 1843 by a group of immigrants from the then independent state of Baden (later incorporated into Germany). This community is characterized by maintaining the imprint culture of its origin, for what is called "the Germany of the Caribbean" or "The German people of Venezuela". It is famous for its culture, its temperate climate and the warmth of its people. It depends basically on tourism (which has beautiful places and exciting excursions, restaurants, shops, inns and hotels) and agriculture, where crops such as peach, strawberries, beet, cauliflower, carrot, cabbage, etc. stand out. chard, broccoli, lettuce, chives and potatoes. It is located 66Km west of Caracas (Capital of Venezuela) and 37km from Victoria (Edo Aragua) by land (highway), at an altitude of almost 2,000 meters above sea level, in the Serranía del Litoral Central de the mountain range of the Coast. It has a varied German cuisine, its main dish being the different types of sausages such as sausages. Since 1990, it has shown a high demographic growth rate, going from 3,373 to 14,672 inhabitants in 2011.
