Great sightseeing, from the top of the mountain you can see the coast line in one side and the city from the other side by just moving your head

This was one of the biggest forts on the Avila protecting against pirates and even indigenous tribes. Its walls were painted black with ashes to help its camouflage and that's how it got its nsme; however, due to its strategic location it was a key part of the warning system along the mountain side. This fort is part of the route of Camino de los Españoles.

The Black Castle are the ruins of an old barracks with a visit to La Guaira and Caracas. It is an incredible space for camping and barbecue. The road is long but beautiful. You can go up in a 4x4 car or on foot. If you go up by car, do not forget your coat, if you go up on foot I recommend that at least one car leaves you near the Monument to Martí and Bolívar, otherwise you will walk a couple of kilometers just seeing the hamlet of Puerta Caracas. The mist begins to fall at 2 and sometimes 4.
