The blue color with which this church is painted is already characteristic. It is the main one of the city of Cumaná, capital of the Sucre State. Although it is the oldest in the city, it was not the first. Its technical rank is that of "concatedral" (church with cathedral rank). For lovers of architecture, they find themselves faced with a construction of three naves with a neoclassical façade with a neo-Renaissance colonial plan. It is known that it contains 52 graves with the remains of important figures of the Cumaná society, although the precise location is unknown. The bronze bell of the XVIII century weighing 500 kilos that was exhibited in the patio, was stolen in March of 2018. _____________________ Ya es un característico el color azul con que esta iglesia es pintada. Es la principal de la ciudad de Cumaná, capital del Estado Sucre. Si bien es la más antigua de la ciudad, no fue la primera. Su rango técnico es el de “concatedral” (iglesia con rango de catedral). Para los amantes de la arquitectura, se hallan ante una construcción de tres naves con fachada neoclásica con planta colonial neo renacentista. Se sabe que contiene 52 fosas con los restos de personajes importantes de la sociedad cumanesa, aunque se desconoce la ubicación precisa. La campana de bronce del siglo XVIII de 500 kilos que se exhibía en el patio, fue robada en marzo del 2018.
