An exuberant site, it is a Catholic parish temple located in the traditional neighborhood of "El Empedrao" and which is considered a cultural icon of the Maracaibo municipality, Zulia state, Venezuela. It was built in the 19th century, using the neo-Gothic style, this at the initiative of the inhabitants of the parish who had been meeting in houses since 1834. It began to be built in 1867 and finished in 1876, later it was completely rebuilt in the 20th century by the priest José Luis Castellano, with the exclusive contribution of the parishioners.
