Werzer's Hotel Velden

My rating is based on our short 2 hour visit while we stopped by for lunch. 2 hours was enough to want to retune here and stay a couple days. The food was amazing!!

Our favorite hotel for years. Friendliness / service / location are hard to beat. We come at least once a year. And you can really say: vacation with friends!

We chose the hotel especially because it has few rooms. The first impression was very good. We could park our car comfortably in the underground car park. We liked the location of the hotel. The reception was friendly. The pool and the first view of the lake were wonderful. Room facilities: The room size was okay, but we found the double bed (probably only 1.60 m) much too small. There was enough space in the closet. The facility was functional. I would have expected a little more chic. The bathroom was very spacious, even with a window. The washbasin is generous with plenty of storage space. Unfortunately, there is only a very large bathtub, which you can hardly get into without help. In my opinion, handles are missing. It is also very smooth. A TV in the bathroom is more than superfluous for me. For people with walking difficulties or like me with leg injuries, it was actually not at all possible to do it alone. However, my husband and the grown daughters, who had a second room next to us, also confirmed this to me that getting in and out was not without danger. The large balcony with a side view of the lake was nicely furnished with two loungers, a table and two chairs. The wellness area is adequate for the size of the hotel. Fortunately, there are showers there, which I personally preferred to shower in the evening. There is also an indoor pool. I did not book applications. Breakfast was well organized and tasted good. It was wonderful to sit on the terrace. The service was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately the restaurant no longer offers dinner. However, there are small menus, delicious desserts, coffee and drinks until 5 p.m. The pool area is very nice, also with a good view of the lake. The wooden deck on the lake with comfortable loungers was also very appealing. I find it negative that many apartments are rented (privately?) In the area of ​​the hotel and the guests are also allowed to use all the hotel's amenities. We noticed time and again that guests reserved areas by the pool or on the wooden deck for hours without using them. However, it was possible for us to get hold of at least two loungers when we were at the pool or on the wooden deck. After we were four people, we had to look and collect individual free loungers. We were able to solve the problem ourselves, but I mentioned it as a negative aspect at reception when I left. Apparently this problem arose for the first time this year. The hotel is definitely not cheap. When I book a small hotel, it is important to me that it is only available to hotel guests. After having had very negative experiences (in another country) with this concept of hotel + possible holiday apartments, I personally would no longer book the hotel for these reasons. I could not take this important information from the website when booking in advance. Overall, it was a nice stay for me and my family.
