My husband and I visited Dr. Schuster both for oral hygiene and for checking or filling For oral hygiene: As most people know, the teeth are stained before treatment and the patient is shown where there is room for improvement in brushing. Instead, the teeth are stained so that the dental assistant can see HIMSELF !!!!!! where she has to work 🤦‍♀️. When asked why she was doing this, her answer was "... that was what we were taught in training back then". THE LAST TIME THEY WERE TRAINED IN 2003, I estimate the assistant to be in her late 40s and early 50s. So her knowledge is not the LATEST.) I asked for a mirror so that I could watch her and I was more than shocked: she goes directly onto the tooth with the ultrasound tip and so removes the discoloration. An absolute no-go. She was very little interested in the fact that the enamel is DAMAGED (which never comes back). The powder jet device is then completely dispensed with, because I quote "what should I do with such an old thing". Finally, the teeth were polished pretty quickly (and only where the stains were). Conclusion on oral hygiene: if we brush our teeth with the same "attitude" (only where we can see the discoloration), you DON'T NEED TO go to ORAL HYGIENE. Save yourself time and MONEY AND LIFELONG DAMAGE TO YOUR TEETH! For control: The control went pretty quickly. Caries was discovered in my husband. For filling: My husband was not even asked if he would like an injection, he should "please endure" (I quote). The way of working is very questionable. When he came home and complained about pain in the gums, I told him that it was perfectly normal (I'm a specialist myself). A day later, it is difficult for him to swallow and talk. When I looked into his mouth I was shocked. Under his tongue (tongue bottom) he had a 2-3mm hole, caused by the drill !!! My husband was not told what happened during the treatment or what he had to do afterwards. When asked on my part what happened during the treatment, the dentist said personally that he should rinse with chlorhexamed, that's not a bad thing. The patient swallowed and so the tongue bottom arrived at the drill. So now some can get an idea of ​​the dentist and the assistant. Clear case for us - not recommendable!
