Dr Rhys Clark - Orthopaedic Hip & Knee Surgeon

I had a total knee replacement 2 weeks ago and I am already walking unassisted. I have a little pain in my muscles surrounding the knee when walking or exercising but none of the severe arthritic pain that had stopped me going for walks, playing golf, enjoying my wildlife photography and ultimately affected my job. I have endured this pain on and off following a sporting injury a long time ago but the last 5 years have been terrible. So last week when I first walked without crutches I broke down crying to my Wife because it was the first time I have walked 2 steps pain free in longer than I can remember. What a feeling that was.I also know that this is early days and my knee will take time to fully recover but without the pain each day just gets better and better. I am 54 years old so fairly young for this procedure but I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone of any age whose life is being ruined by such pain.nI chose Rhys after attending one of his seminars when I was still unsure of what to do. I was convinced on that day that I really had no choice and I couldn't carry on the way I was. Also I'd done a little research and Rhys offered the 'robotic arm assisted surgery' which I was favouring.nI cannot express how happy I am with the outcome. From first appointment to post op Mr Rhys Clark, Dr Peter Garnett (anaesthetist) and their entire team have been wonderful, assuring me, keeping me comfortable, informed and motivated. Already having had several knee surgeries, I finally had to have the big one: Total L knee replacement. Mako robotics with Dr Rhys Clark. Got a blot clot, Dr Clark straight onto it. Excellent communicator, very professional & caring. Knowing I was regional called when he knew I was traveling home. If I have to have anything else done, I will be back to Mr Clark. Thanks also to Lynda in admin and Peter for anesthetic.
