Tobruk was amazing, we got married in 2018 and I’m the worst at putting reviews up in time but 3 years on and I can still say it was a perfect day.nnFrom start to finish the venue event coordinators were amazing they answered emails and phone calls really quickly and put up with the disorganised bride that I was.nnThe venue was gorgeous, and the team did a great job setting up, and putting together the centrepieces!nnThe food option were good although there wasn’t much room for menu variations which can be frustrating all guests were catered for and the team even got behind a couple of practical jokes with the food service.nnThe sheep herding was a good time for me and my new husband to escape and have a minute alone to just smile and breathe and appreciate the day.

Visited this gem of a place on a fine sunny day. Because we were a group we booked a few days ahead. Stockman Nick, our host for the day was very entertaining and kept cracking us up. We started off with morning tea of damper and tea. He did a whole show off swinging the tea pot which was hilarious.nnThis was followed by a demo of whip cracking and boomerangs, both of which we were allowed to try later on in the day. Nick showed us why dogs were such a crucial part of a farm. The kelpies (Ted, Sky, Belle and a little 3 legged kelpie whose name escapes me) did a fine job of herding and obeying commands. We got to see a sheep being sheared. After this, we enjoyed a nice barbecue lunch finished off with yummy lamingtons. Nick threw in a tractor ride as a treat.nnOverall a wonderful experience. The place was amazing, the dogs and cats were very friendly, as were the other sheep, cows and chooks. A big shout out to the staff at TOBRUK.

An interesting and fun look at an operating sheep station. Great place for locals, visitors and kids alike. Gorgeous function centre and other historical accommodation available.

We took the shorter morning session that started around 10.30 and ended around 1pm and excluded the lunch.nThe morning session kicked off with the stockman , Nick, explaining the basic life of a stockman in the outback and the reason that damper and bully tea are such as staple during round ups away from the main homestead. Got to sample some damper and bully tea that had been cooking earlier that morning on the coals of the fire.nThen onto a great wip cracking, woomera and boomerang explanation and demonstration...all conducted with a mixture of humor and educationnnThe sheep round up with the sheep dogs was a great part of the activity and really showcased the expertise of the dogs and stockman working together. Fed the sheep by hand in the enclosed yards and then onto the sheering demonstration and explanation of the sorting of the fleece into its differing quality categoriesnnHighly recommend Tobruk as having been on outback stations, it's about as true to life experience this close to Sydney
