Had a lovely walk down this path but wasn’t lucky enough to spot a platypus. They were weaving in and out of the water only ever so slightly. But we got a beautiful late afternoon view of this place and it is definitely refreshing! Loads of runners along the way and friendly locals with their pups. Worth a visit.

Great place for a nice wander through rainforest and hills. Very scenic.

Did around 3-4km round trip with Neil the platypus whisperer. Well contructed boardwalk with lookouts and signage next to points of interest. Parkrun uses a part of the path further along so be careful between 7-8am on Saturdays as it can be briefly busy. Wide variety of birdlife and we were lucky to spot a young platypus on the return trip back to showgrounds where we began. Recommend checking it out and try a guided tour

Lovely scenery n lovely views, however we ran into a few directional posts ..and were still unsure of direction to follow...leading to Google maps lol...walked 2.5 hrs and worth the beer at pub after lol

Poor sign posts and viewing platform is very high and away from water. We thought we were going to do a mapped circuit around the river. We ended up (along with others) trying to follow the online map and on-trail signage. It was vague and confusing and only offered a couple of glimpses of the river on the challenging 5.2 km walk that is a circuit of the golf course, not the river. It was hard going and we had to double back to find the path again many times because of the bad bad signage. At the end when we find the sign saying we were 0.4km from the end of the 'circuit' we just came out at little road the other side of the golf course with Melany (where the circuit started), another 2.5km hike up and down a mountain away. Unless you are a local, we do not recommend. Google maps even got people lost and if you don't start the map at the beginning there is no service until you get back into Melany (if you make it). Awful experience. It has a big section of stairs at the farthest end so not for strollers or ambient. Also, they show signs for toilets ... not true! There are no toilets. The picnic spot is at least 1.5km from the shortest roadside distance with loads of stairs. Be prepared to carry everything a long way.
