The Golden Gumboot

A nice landmark to stop and see. You can climb to the top for photos which is quite good. There are some historical photos inside that are nice to look at. Close to shops, a nice place for a short break.

Worth the detour of the highway for a quick stop , you can walk up to the top for a look over the town and the sugar mill.nThere are pictures of the town and surrounding areas during different flood events.nThere is a donation box at the entrance and toilets in the travel stop next door

It was a pleasant surprise. You learn about floods in the area. The view from the top is quite nice

Very interesting. Photos depict floods and past events. The monument lives up to its name.

It's cute. I'd like it much better if there were a handy place to pull over so's not to be a nuisance to traffic.
