There are many crocodile tour operators in the area but Solar Whisper Cruises came recommended and they did not disappoint. Mark, our tour guide, was so knowledgeable and informative and had so much to share. We saw a few crocs along with snakes and birds which was exciting! The company seem really dedicated to preserving the natural habitat of the Daintree River and conducting their tours with minimal disturbance to the wildlife. The boat has a good quality camera and TV screen on board so Mark was able to zoom in on the animals we saw so everyone was ensured a close look. Definitely recommend!
Great tour. We saw many crocodiles, big and small sun baking on the banks. Our tour guide Mark was good at spotting the cute little babies and he was very informative about the different flora and fauna of area. We saw a number of different birds and frogs as well. Really enjoyed it and it's so affordable! Highly recommend.
Great guide and tour. Very much enjoyed being in a small boat where everyone had a good view and we could ask questions. Handy having the camera zoom and screen on boat to see things even more clearly.
We decided to cruise with David on our drive up and we’re so glad we did this yesterday! Our guide was very knowledgeable in finding wildlife that we would never have been able to spot ourselves, the background information on particular species and their important part in the rivers eco system. We were able to get an understanding of the vegetation and their importance as well as the how some of the animals and vegetation worked together. This was truly an enlightening experience while also remaining light hearted and enjoyable.
We loved our river ride & were so fortunate to see the dominant male & 2 females with babies up close. Plus a 1 yr old. Our guide was very likeable & knew lots about the crocs. And he didn’t hurry us back when the hour was up. Highly recommend!
