Daintree Gateway

Absolutely a must visit. The canopy of the trees and diversity of all the fauna and flora living alongside one another is truly a remarkable feat. We even got to see a golden orb spider. Truly blessed to have experienced our remarkable country.

We stopped into have lunch at 1345 with a group of 11 with no prior booking, very friendly service, and quick turn around of meals. The chef was very accommodating of our choices. The crispy skin salmon was cooked perfectly.

The gateway to the world heritage listed is a small ferry. Locals and supply trucks have priority. The other options are driving around for ages or hiring a helicopter.nStaff are friendly and the cost is reasonable, I just hate waiting.

The ferry has friendly staff and a great service for the region and is a great tourist destination. The service is so efficient- a bridge is not required. This is the gateway to our 'World Heritage Listed Site that continues to require world protection because of it's magnificent rainforest's and waterways.

It's the gateway to enter the Daintree National Park. You need to catch the ferry to pass the Daintree river. $18 for single trip or $31 for return trip. You don't need to make any bookings.
