Having been my first ever drum teacher, I've had the benefit of knowing Steve for many years, meeting during my undergraduate music degree. Despite my nervousness and fear at embarrassing myself, Steve immediately showcased his exceptional ability not just as a drummer and musician, but also as a teacher. I found that my drum lessons were often the best part of my university week. Steve's immense knowledge allowed me to easily understand basic to advanced concepts, and I was extremely surprised to see my progression over the years, with pride. I will definitely continue to see Steve, and recommend anyone with any passion for drumming and music, to benefit from his lessons.

Steve is not just a great drummer but an awesome drum teacher! There are many good drummers out there, but few are able to explain drumming concepts as clearly (and patiently!) as Steve. Steve was my main session drummer for the last 10 years of the operation of my studio - JNP. I'm in my mid 20s and full time employed. I always wanted to learn the drums and got lessons with Steve as a birthday gift. (Never touched a drum kit before) Steve has been my teacher for almost a year now and I have no intentions looking for another one any time soon. I feel appreciated every lesson, as Steve always finds the perfect balance between teaching me new skills, touching base on already learned and asking me what I am interested in learning. He has a really nice studio we practice in, with everything set up and ready to go. On top of his drumming skills, Steve's long career and understanding of the music industry, helped me get a broader picture of music in general.
