Gold Creek Reservoir

Nice walk. Medium grade but a bit steep/tricky coming down hill at times. The track is not well signed and parts are overgrown but overall, a great walk.

We did this walk with a 9 and 12 year old - an active family and would not recommend with children . Ended loss somewhere as the track is poorly signed and ended up walking over 8kms. Very overgrown and not well maintained . Very steep in some parts .

Interesting short walk from carpark to the reservoir. The walk includes a pedestrian bridge over the creek to a pumping station. From there go left to a picnic table and toilets, only 50 metres or so. The picnic area is at the base of a lawn covered hill up to the top of the resevoir wall. If you turn right at the pumping station, follow a steep, rough track for 150 metres to the top of the resevoir wall. This provides a good view overlooking the resevoir, the intake tower and spillway. Water levels are well below the spillway. From here you can do a 2 hour trek around the dam, easiest to walk clockwise. Start by following the dam wall. The circular trek is quite nice, though climbs a bit over the second half.

What a beautiful place to visit. Lovely walking areas and lots to see.
