Walked in off the street with the 14yo lad and the Jack Russell. Immediately plonked ourselves down on the bean bags and watched an evocative weather event video. Very experiential and relaxing and an excellent circuit breaker.

Awful exhibitions. Wouldn't recommend this gallery to anyone. I can understand the Emperor's new clothes syndrome (Seeing things that are not there) with expensive art because it has all the glamour of money for nothing - ,But honestly the pretentious, nihilistic, and ersatz-neurosis amateurism of this gallery's exhibitions are nauseating. PICA doesn't get anywhere near the funding of AGWA, and the standard of the art? : To me, it suggests that there is little money for signficant insurance - Very very little there, in my opinion, was ever worth seeing, let alone stealing.... Try and find any signficant artist who has ever exhibited there... But don't ask the people involved with PICA themselves because - they will give you a catalogue of mediocrist, audio/+visual-poetasters who went onto bigger and better things such as exhibiting at a commercial gallery (you have never heard of) every four of five years... (If the commercial gallery has not already folded). No doubt, for talented young artists the gallery holds allure as a means of local exposure - But if they are genuinely talented, I definitely recommend, that they set their sights higher than a place like PICA.
