It is a dog park and strange dogs sometimes jump onto you. But you could come and walk around and around and around the reservoir and do your 10k steps for the day easily. Usually it is shady because of the trees around unless it is right at noon. Completely flat. No public toilet facilities.

Been coming here since I was a kid.nGreat views - especially of River Fire.nAlso the only unfenced dog offleash area I am aware of.

Visited the lookout tonight - there is a 300m walk from where we parked to the lookout. It is in the dark, so bring a torch!nVery pretty lookout views though!

The address given is 203 Russell Terrace Chapel Hill, but the entrance to the drive-in entry and car park is Dellamara St, which intersects with Russell Tce.nnThe lookout views are nothing spectacular, but it’s a quite and relaxing atmosphere surrounded by the beautiful Brisbane forest, local wildlife and an ever ongoing art feature that surrounds the structure that Sir Thomas Gaffney Lookout is on.nnI would definitely suggest coming here at dawn twilight, with a fresh cup of tea/coffee and watching the sunrise, as it slowly glistens morning light upon Brisbane.nIt’s a refreshing sight to see, and isn’t overwhelmingly crowded by the hundreds of tourists who will instead go to the Mt Coottha summit.

If it had toilets it would score 5. Great flat 800m walking road around the Chapel Hill water tower. Can get very busy Sunday afternoons with every man and his dog. If your a local your bound to run into someone you know.
