Simon and his associated, Lilly, understood our brief and worked hard to meet our needs and wants. In a highly competitive market, we certainly wouldn't have found the property we ended up purchasing without their assistance. It being an off-market purchase also meant securing the property at good price, offsetting their fee and then some. Will re-engage in the future when we next decide to re-enter the market.

After spending multiple months conducting my due diligence on various Buyers Agents in Brisbane, I was sold on working with Universal due to Darren's emotional intelligence and his ability to understand my brief. After signing, Darren and Emma had found an off-market property that suited my brief and I had signed a contract within less than a week, working late on a Friday to secure the deal. They educated me throughout the process and provided their professional opinion when requested. They worked with my mortgage broker and maintained transparent communication at all times, providing me regular updates. I used Darren over a year ago to buy an apartment in Fortitude Valley. He came across great, I was relying on Darren to help me buy a great investment property. I was unable to see the place myself (hence using him and paying a lot of money for the service). Darren recommended I buy a property I had highlighted to him. He didn't do any research himself. It was the only property he saw. I put in an offer and it was accepted, all very exciting as it was happening very fast. What I found disappointing was that a couple days before the settlement I found out that one of the bedrooms didn't have a proper window, it had the glass blocks so you couldn't see through it or open it. This put off a lot of potential tenants and made it difficult for me to rent it out. At this point I had already paid Darren and also couldn't get out of the contract. Darren hadn't bothered to tell me about the bedroom so I had assumed that the bedroom had a normal window since it hadn't been brought to my attention. I wouldn't have brought this property if I had known. I would recommend to anyone using Darren to make sure he tells you everything good and bad about the place and takes a video or lots of photos so that you don't end up like me with disappointment and a costly mistake. Who knows what it will be like when I want to sell the place in the future.
