Nyanda Cultural Tours

This tour is excellent. The people are so lovely and the tour is very informative. It was great to learn about the food that is readily available and about the local traditions and history.

We are from St Elizabeth's OSHC we had a tour there today and it was awesome. The kids got to experience bush tucker food, threw boomerangs and spears, got to experience a smoking ceremony. Madonna, James and crew make you feel so welcomed it was amazing thanks guys!!

Dear all..nI visited Nyanda in last week. I was taken a thorough personal care by Madonna, James, Isaac and their family.nnIt was an awesome experience. I was here to interact with aboriginal people to know their past and present. I am an Anthropologist from India, who learnt from books about the way anthropologists explores Australian Aboriginals. My visit to Nyanda broke many of my myths.nnThey gave me several insights.nI enjoyed the bush foods, which James so fondly explained to me, taking me from one plant and tree to the other.nnI had a hands on experience with the tools they used in hunting, fishing etc.nnI had a brief experience of body painting, which , I learnt, was a very significant event in the Yuggara rites of passage.nnI loved the landscape and the lake there., which has so much of underwater flora and fauna.nnMore than anything else I was astonished by the story of their Ethnocide and how they struggle to know their roots. The problems they are encountering in the present in every walk of life, the feel of disillusionment and being cheated.nIt was a real heartening experience. I thank you all , the Nyanda team for giving this very memorable time and feel in Australia.nnI am going back to India with New thoughts and understanding of the aboriginals.nThanks so much.
