Dr Jason Tan has operated and cared for me as an Ovarian cancer patient and I could not have been in better hands. He took me on as a patient on the Monday, operated on Wednesday and I believe I have had over 3 years of life thanks to his skills. He may not have the gentlest of beside manner,, but he is highly skilled and everything he does is in your best interest. I will continue to see him and hope he will soon be operating again both for my sake and for many other women.

1. Yes, I am under review by the medical board, complex issues, but suffice it to say that I performed a surgery my colleagues would/could not do, and the patient had an extra 2yrs 9 months of life. I do not regret performing the surgery, as I was able to grant the wish of the patient to see her child turn 1. In fact she celebrated the 3rd birthday together!n2. I have never performed a LLETZ on a 16 week pregnant ladyn3. I have never perforated a uterus in outpatient sampling of the uterus.n4. Bad reviews grow for various reason not only because of the care patients receives.n5. I will always do what is in the patients' best interests, and will be more than happy to discuss any issues including my medical board review with patients.n6. I have more than 600cancer patients still under my care, and they are aware of my medical board review. I continue to look after them, as they understand the issues of the medical review.

I have been seeing Dr Tan for six years and have found him extremely professional and caring. As a 21-year-old going in for invasive surgery, Dr Tan and his team were nothing short of reassuring and caring pre and post surgery. I saw him today for my annual check up and he was completely honest and upfront with his current situation. Do not believe everything you read on the internet, there are always two sides to every story.

Jason Tan showed no care, empathy or understanding. Didn’t discuss the procedure before he did it. Wrote incorrect information on referrals for scans, radiographers were unable to contact him. Told me the most likely cause of my pain was cancer before even getting a history fromnMe. He then proceeded to do invasive examinations and tests. At the end he finally felt where the pain was, rushed off into the other room and yelled out “I’ve found it”. What he thought was the cause of the pain. It wasn’t cancer. Turns out the thing he “found” on my scan was normal, the radiographer was perplexed and couldn’t work out what he was referring to. He even admitted at the end of the appointment that the tests he performed were probably not necessary and would be completely normal. I paid over $600 for tests that were completely irrelevant and unnecessary. As a young female on my own I was in complete shock. Terrible experience.

Dr Tan took me on as his patient when all other doctors wouldn’t because I was a very high risk patient. He saved my life and I’m very grateful for that.
