Parsons Funeral Directors are well known in the area and that is why we chose to use them to farewell my late grandfather.nnThe company organised one of their Funeral Directors, Wes, to attend our family home to plan the funeral at the time that was most convenient to us. This was late on a Friday afternoon and it didn’t once appear an inconvenience to him.nnFrom the time Wes first introduced himself to our family, there was an instant warmness to his character and a comforting familiarity as we chatted about our pets and mutual friends in the area. The visit wasn’t all ‘business’, it was a nice, casual yet professional conversation whilst we discussed what we wanted in the service.nnIn the days that followed leading up to the funeral, Wes kept in touch with my family, seeing how we were coping and updated us on the plans for the service. He was able to find a beautiful version of the song we requested and sent us the link to make sure we were happy with it. Wes has a genuine, caring personality and you can see he just wants things to run as smoothly as possible for your final farewell to your loved one. It was so reassuring to know that.nnWes also arranged for a lovely Celebrant to visit my family and learn about my grandfather’s life. The celebrant mentioned that she likes to make each service personalised and unique to honour the lives of those who’ve passed and this is exactly what she did on the day.nnOn the day of the service, my family were greeted outside the funeral home by Wes and the celebrant. They both made sure we were all ok before facing friends and family in the chapel and then took us inside.nnThe chapel is a modest but intimate venue. It has a calm, inviting atmosphere. There was nice, soft music playing whilst everyone arrived and the service was simple and beautiful, exactly what we wanted.nnThere was time after the service to have light refreshments in the kitchen area attached to the chapel and Wes didn’t make it seem like there was a hurry to leave. It just felt so relaxed.nnThank you Wes and Parsons Funeral Directors for making such a difficult time and process so easy and seamless.
