Lynette Smith Music

Lynette is a kind, caring, thorough and responsive music teacher who has connected with our son, understanding him, his musical interests and moods. She is calmly guiding him through his contemporary guitar exams. She spent two Saturdays helping our son find the right guitar, teaching him to really listen to the guitar and not just purchase the one being 'sold' to us. We're so happy we found Lyn and cannot recommend her highly enough!

Lyn has been teaching me acoustic guitar over the past 18 months, and I highly recommend her as a teacher. She is insightful, patient and understands what drives me and how to bring out my best. I can’t believe how much I have learned and progressed in a short time, and am even writing my own songs, with valuable input and feedback from Lyn. Most importantly each lesson is fun and something I look forward to each week. I feel fortunate to be able to learn from such a talented and inspiring musician. Do not hesitate - picking up a new instrument as an adult is not easy but it is so rewarding, and Lyn is very approachable and supportive.

I was looking for a musician for my party, so I did some google searches. Boy, I was really lucky to find Lynette Smith. She has a beautiful voice, she's a great guitarist and she has a natural presence. Her song choices were perfect - some upbeat, some soulful, some you caught yourself singing along to. She played my utmost favourite song - how did she know that?! Lynette is a total professional - bang on time, no fuss, no bother. If you want a talented musician without ''attitude'' for your next event, I highly recommend that you book Lynette Smith.

My daughter, Matilda, was 7 years old and asked me on many occasions if she could learn to play the guitar. As all good parents do, you decide to give it a go hoping that it’s not going to be a five minute wonder and you can find your child’s ‘spark’! Lynette became Matilda’s guitar teacher and friend and I believe she really ‘gets’ her. Two years later and Matilda has come a long way, having started on a cheapie acoustic guitar and then progressing to a very cool electric guitar.nI truly believe that Lynette has found the fine balance of making her lessons fun whilst still making sure the emphasis is on technique and learning to read music. Lyn has found Matilda’s spark but more importantly she has managed to keep it alive!

We asked Lynette to play at our wedding ceremony in Sydney - she was absolutely incredible! Such an amazing voice and energy! She was very professional in all of our communication (which was a lot as I needed to make a million changes (songs, venue, time, etc.) before the big day) and fitted in so perfectly with our wedding ceremony. She also learnt a few new songs for us, on request, without any hassle. Everything was do-able. I would highly recommend Lynette for just about any occasion - she's fantastic!
