SG Hair

I used to visit SG Hair 10 years ago and then went to a salon in the city as I moved, I recently returned and have now visited twice this year as I wanted to give it another go. Honestly for the price you pay there are much better salons in Sydney. I don't find the team have a strong colourist, and I don't find the stylists friendly at all. I find the apprentices lovely and the owner, but the stylists themselves are not and have bad attitudes. I have had my hair coloured and cut, and was not impressed by their work. There are a lot of positive reviews on here, but I would love to know whether people have tried another salon. SG Hair is a big fish in a little pond in Penshurst, but for the price the team need to up their game if they want to compare themselves to other salons in Sydney.nStrand Gossip team- no you will not be able to find me in your system under this name as its my maiden name. I have already raised my concern with the stylists directly, however they didn't seem to care to be honest. Hence my review here.

I'd like to highly recommend the SG hair salon at Penshurst. Easy to book, available times and dates and most importantly amazing professionals. My first experience with the salon was beautiful and I came back and it was even better. Thankyou Brendon for my beautiful natural highlights!!! Leah and the team are amazing - not just amazing hair stylists who give a relaxing head massage with each wash and cut a killer bob/lob, but are amazing humans as well.nnMy Mum has motor neurone disease and the team are gentle and kind with her. They take the time to pamper and chat with Mum during her cut so that Mum always leaves the salon in high spirits.nnThank you Leah and team!

Unfortunately customer service was bad. The hair stylist was more interested in pranking other employees than in cutting my hair. I was trying to start small talk but for nothing. With time, I was more and more terrified how my hair will turn up but fortunately they are ok, hence 2 stars instead of 1. I wasn't even asked if I wanted some styling, I had to ask myself to get a little bit of curls. I felt that everything was rushed and I wasn't feeling comfortable. Definitely not coming back, sorry.

The service by the team was exceptional from the phone call to book all the way through to having a finished cut. You can tell the team love what they do and care about their clients. I'll definitely be back.
