In the midst of overwhelming loss, we often experience confusion and incapacitation in the grieving process.nTo be able to entrust our loved ones to the care of a team of professionals and be certain they will be tended lovingly, compassionately and impeccably, is such a gift. Regrettably used Maurer family funerals for my father’s service, and found them to be very insensitive and unprofessional. They did not listen to our instructions at all- for the entry we had 4 pallbearers ready to carry his casket down the aisle to a specific song, and next thing we know the casket was being wheeled in by the funeral director with no music at all. They were also untrustworthy with the invoicing, quoting us for additional costs that were never incurred (e.g. ‘after hours’ pick up and transporting of my father’s body, when it was actually midday on a week day). This concerns me that they take advantage of people’s grief for their own profit - hoping these ‘add-ons’ will go unnoticed. We wrote a letter expressing our disappointment, but never received a response. Very poor.
