Repressed Records

Great record store. Plenty of variety and well priced. They don't rely on expensive reissues like many of the other stores in Sydney. All the various sections (in particular punk, metal, experimental and nz/oz) are very well put together with interesting titles. The book selection is also worth checking also especially for art, photography and classic fiction. Staff are sound too.

I always leave this record store with a paper bag filled with some musical goodness. The guy who runs the shop is always friendly and informative, their staff are always happy answer any inquiry you might have and you're bound to leave with a bargain of a hard to find CD/VINYL/CASSETTE/BOOK everytime.

The staff are always nice, they put quality and value above profit, I have found movies there that you cannot get elsewhere dirt cheap, on more than one occasion I have even told the guys they are ripping themselves off, but they are there for the people.. one of my favorite shops in Sydney and along with Clems Chicken Shop ome of the few reasons to visit Newtown

What an amazing store this is and an old institution in Newtown. It's a quaint set-up with wide range of used and new vinyl records, cassettes (yes, I mean, retro cassettes!), used books, etc. This is the place to go if you're looking for local, Australian home-grown music. Best of all, the friendliest guys working here with umptious knowledge who will help with the most challenging and trivial questions. I absolutely love browsing through their massive collection. They also accept your old vinyl and cassettes (I offered them mine for free, great recycling I suppose). Rumour has it that Elton John shopped here whilst touring Australia! Support local business, a must in this challenging time.

I enjoyed their new and old selection of records, books, magazines and movies. Cool shop for great findings. I will go back for more.
